BEFORE DEPARTURE, IDCI WILL:

ON ARRIVAL AND DURING THE PERIOD OF THE RESIDENCE, IDCI ASSOCIATE WILL

  • Provide a formal orientation to prepare you for residence
  • Ensure that you are supported as you learn to take public transit, access a health clinic, open a bank account, and so on
  • Talk to you during first month to see how you are adjusting to school and residence
  • Help you communicate effectively with your residence host and resolve difficulties, as required
  • Meet with you whenever you need to talk

Yes. Students are offered the opportunity to take summer English courses at various grade levels

For adult international students there is no school uniform but for high school students, normally they do, but it all depends on the school’s preference. Normally, a school blazer, kilt (girls) and tie need to be purchased at school. The rest of the uniform can be purchased at most clothing stores. Complete information on the school dress code is available if needed in some colleges.

No. However, you may submit these test scores, if completed, to strengthen the student’s application.

New rules for prospective international students are now in effect (as of June 1, 2014). Read about these changes and how they may impact you.There are several permanent resident categories that you may fit into, including the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Program, and the Provincial Nominee Program. Some of those categories require eligible Canadian work experience. If you want to work in Canada after you graduate from your studies, you must apply for a work permit under the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program. NOTE: Completing an Express Entry profile is the first step to immigrate to Canada permanently as a skilled worker. Completing an Express Entry profile does not guarantee that you will receive an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence. An Invitation to Apply for permanent residence will be based on your score and rank in the Express Entry pool using the Comprehensive Ranking System

You must have been accepted by a designated learning institution in Canada. You must prove that you have enough money to pay for your: tuition fees living expenses for yourself and any family members who come with you to Canada and Return transportation for yourself and any family members who come with you to Canada. You must be a law-abiding citizen with no criminal record and not be a risk to the security of Canada. You may have to provide a police certificate. You must be in good health and willing to complete a medical examination, if necessary. You must satisfy an immigration officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your authorized stay.

For high school international students, they must have a minimum ability to read, write and converse at the level of an Ontario Middle School student. This will be determined by the pre-assessment and interview. All students who are offered admission to the International ESL Program will be enrolled in two English courses. For adult international students.

Yes. All students for high school must have a custodian (guardian), regardless of age. (High School International Student) If you are an international student under (adult category i. e. more than 18 years old) then you don’t need to have a custodian.

Students need to arrive at least 10 days before the start of the school year for registration, orientation and formal assessment.

Most students attend for the full year (September – June). Full-year attendance allows them to earn Ontario credits. Students can also join the school during Term I (September – December) or Term II (February – May) at a reduced tuition rate; these students are not eligible to earn Ontario credits

In the unlikely event that the Canadian government does not grant a study permit, the tuition fee is refunded less an administrative fee of $1000.

If the Student has a relative, they can pick them up or either one of the Venturer associate can arrange a pick up for them.

The student needs to arrange their own accommodation. We can help to provide the links where to find the housing but it is the student responsibility to arrange the accommodation
